The Kirklees Light Railway in Clayton West, Huddersfield is a historic railway line. It runs from Clayton West to Shelly; a journey running just under 3.5 miles
It has become a popular tourist attraction in Kirklees and features real steam engines and a miniature ride-on railway.
To start off 2021, Kirklees Light Railway is running ‘Mince Pie Specials’ for 3 days from the 1st to the 3rd of January.
Trains will depart at: 11am, 12.20pm, 1.40pm and 3pm each day. You should book your tickets online in advance.
On the trip, visitors will be treated to some free mince pies on their return journey to Shelley and back. The trip takes approximately just over an hour
Social distancing on the Kirklees Light Railway:
All visitors on the train and inside station facilities will need to wear face masks or coverings – unless under 11 years old or with a valid exemption.
Visitors should also only book tickets for their own social bubble and should not plan to meet with others outside their bubble.
