At the White Rose Centre on Saturday 25th January there will be a rumour of angels at 2.00 and 3.00. Members of the Huddersfield Choral Society will emerge from amongst the shopping public to perform a flashmob, accompanied by solo trumpet.
The Society gave their traditional pre-Christmas concert of Handel’s Messiah in Huddersfield Town Hall to appreciative audiences and enthusiastic reviews. We will bring that energy to the White Rose as we sing the Hallelujah Chorus, from the Messiah, a piece that has been performed around the world every year since its premiere in Dublin in 1742.
The Huddersfield Choral Society is working closely with KLTV, a film production company that celebrates and documents our local community and businesses. They provide an inclusive platform to air local voices and promote equality for all the diverse local people of Kirklees.
The Society is encouraging all singers to come and give its new Voices choir a try. We also welcome singers to come to listen to Choral Society rehearsals and have a go at an audition. Other angels will be circulating amongst the shoppers with further details about these, and our spring concerts.
Come along and be part of the Hallelujah Happening at the White Rose to begin your 2020 with more than you bargained for.
