Huddersfield Town will be facing Watford at Vicarage Road in the Championship on Saturday 16th of January, 3 pm K.O.
Huddersfield Town
Huddersfield are currently sitting 13th place in the table, six points away from a playoff position and also six points away from Watford, who are currently sitting 6th.
The Terriers, unfortunately, suffered defeat during their last game in the Championship, with a 2-1 loss at home to Reading.
Huddersfield had seven shots to Readings eight, but the visitors managed to grab the win.
Huddersfield will be certainly looking to make up for this defeat by bringing 3 points back home with them tomorrow.
Watford FC
Watford have been playing well throughout this season, with their place in the table reflecting their efforts.
The Hornets did lose their last game in the championship against Swansea, putting them in a similar position to Huddersfield.
Both teams also suffered defeats in their most recent FA cup games, meaning they will both be working hard to net themselves with a win on Saturday.
It’s only been a month since Huddersfield and Watford last met, and that game ended in a 2-0 win to the Terriers.
Even though Huddersfield may have got the win, Watford still put up a really good performance, with a total of 21 shots to Huddersfield’s 10.
Ones to Watch
Joao Pedro
Pedro was recently out with a hamstring injury but was placed back in the squad for the game against Manchester United. Joao has scored 5 goals for Watford this year far and I’m sure that he will be eager to get back to his goal-scoring ways with the team.
Pre-Match Press Conference
Huddersfield Town Manager Carlos Corberán had a few comments to make ahead of the game on Saturday.
Speaking on the disappointing FA Cup exit to Plymouth, he said: “We are analysing all the details of the game and we are looking to make more improvements within the team.”
The Manager also made note of Watford’s change of pace since the last time they met.
“It is totally different the way that they are playing now… In a short period of time, they have changed a lot”
Mr Corberán also made note of the Terriers own changes moving forward, he said: “We are going to analyse all of the news we have and look at what needs to be improved within the team.
“We are looking to have more consistency within our results”
Predictions
Looking at both teams I honestly do think that it is going to be a tight game between both Huddersfield and Watford.
Even based on their performance last game, I think Huddersfield can bring the three points home.
From the predicted squads for this weekend, I am going to put Huddersfield in favour of the win.
I can’t see the game being a 4-0 thrashing, but if Huddersfield comes wanting to win this game as a team, I think they can take it.
Nathan Findlay’s Prediction | Huddersfield Town 1 Watford 0
My colleague Dan agrees that the game will be close, and may well end in a draw, but he can’t see it going goalless either.
