The Ravensthorpe Family Activity Day organised by the Friends of Greenwood Centre Library was hailed a great success.
The event included outdoor fun, games and activities borrowed from Comoodle, food stalls from local businesses and the chance for residents to chat to local police and wardens about any issues.
Mirfield Knit and Natter group came over for the day and had a lovely time – so much so they are planning on going back to share their knitting skills with the friends group.
Local Councillor Mussarat Pervaiz who is Chair of the Friends of Group, and organised the event said: “We had a fantastic day at the event and it was lovely to meet so many local people. The Greenhead Centre really is the heart of our community and hopefully following the event, more people will consider coming to the library and getting involved with friends group. I would like to thank everyone involved for their efforts on the day, and local MP Paula Sherriff for coming down to support us.
