Our biggest event of the year is back! Now in its 11th year, the Midnight Memory Walk continues to capture the imagination, with over 1,000 people lacing up each year. We’d love you to take part in the 6 or 10 mile sponsored walk and help us to celebrate 30 years of Kirkwood Hospice.
Pre-registration for the 2017 Midnight Memory Walk has now closed.
If you didn’t manage to register before the cut off date but would still like to take part, you can sign up on the night at the University of Huddersfield.
On the night registration is £25 for adults and £15 for children aged 16 and under. Please get there in plenty of time to ensure we can get you sign up. Registration desks open at 10 pm.
The Midnight Memory Walk involves participants taking on a circular six or ten-mile sponsored walk, starting and finishing at the University of Huddersfield. The evening starts at 10 pm, with registration, a group warm up and fantastic entertainment. On the stroke of midnight, confetti cannons will pierce the night air to signal the start of the walk.
Once signed up, each walker will receive a walker’s guide as well as a t-shirt to wear on training walks and on the night of the walk itself.
It doesn’t matter why you decide to take part in the Midnight Memory Walk; it could be in memory of a loved one; to get fit or simply to enjoy a great night out with friends and colleagues.
Whatever your reason, age or fitness, it promises to be a fun, inspiring and rewarding event, with fellow Hospice supporters coming together for the biggest and best fundraising night of the year.
The usual brilliant party atmosphere awaits you, with entertainment, live music and face painting, along with a group warm-up provided by the awesome team at Total Fitness, before you lace up and set off on the walk. We are excited to be joined this year, as part of our 30th year anniversary by Pulse1 radio and their presenter, Rosie Maddison.
A range of neon merchandise is available to purchase on the night, with all proceeds going directly to Kirkwood Hospice.
The event starts at 10 pm on Saturday 24th June with the walk setting off at midnight.
A complimentary sandwich and drink will await you upon finishing the walk.
Having registered your safe return you will be awarded one of our bespoke 30th-anniversary medals (sponsored by Syngenta) together with a complimentary goody bag, which contains some exciting surprises!
What better way to spend a Saturday night, with the knowledge you are also helping to support your local hospice!
On the night registration is £25 for adults and £15 for children aged 16 and under.

An institution that prides itself in nurturing young talent and being a space for musical growth, Musica Kirklees has given a range of people the building blocks they need to unlock their true artistic potential.
One of the many programmes that have helped develop this potential is the Musica Youth Orchestra.
Reuniting students and alumni from the last 20 years, the one-off celebration will act as the opus for all the orchestra has achieved within its time.
Taking place on the 8th of February at Huddersfield’s town hall, with doors opening at 6:45pm for a 7:30pm start, the two-hour bonanza promises to showcase a wide repertoire to honour its local heritage.
With adult tickets available for £10 and £3 for under 18s, the event is set to be a highlight within Huddersfield’s musical calendar. ... See MoreSee Less
