Visitors to Leeds Kirkgate Market will get the chance to try their hand at a series of sporting challenges.
The Leeds Kirkgate Market Sports Week, coordinated by Yorkshire Sport Foundation, will take place in the newly refurbished area of the market from Monday 3 to Saturday 8 October with sports including archery, rowing, Goalball and football.
There will be the chance to take on a table tennis robot, get a taste of street golf and take to the athletics track to see how you compare to Usain Bolt or Mo Farah.
‘Mums’ Team’ will be on hand to lead sessions for mothers and toddlers and visitors will be able to find out more about how to get involved in sport on a regular basis.
Nigel Harrison, chief executive of Yorkshire Sport Foundation, said: “It’s great to be taking sport into the heart of Leeds city centre. Whether it’s people shopping in the market or grabbing some food on their lunchbreak, it’s a great opportunity to try a variety of sports.”
