Susan Uttley, a keen walker and trained mountain leader, has planned a series of winter walks to raise money for a local charity.
Susan hosted walks over Christmas – December 26, 27, 28 and is also hosting some New Year walks over January 1 and 2nd.
The walk will be for around six miles. It will be a circular walk around Oxenhope and Haworth.
Furthermore, Susan has invited any interested parties to join her walk in small groups. The groups will be socially-distanced and Susan will point out the places and views of interest along the route.
Susan is walking for a charity close to her heart, Down Syndrome Training and Support Service.
Ms Utterly said, “My sister Wendy and nephew Sam help run the charity, which is based in Bingley, so I would like these walks to help support the group.”
“The walks – which will each have places for five people – will offer the chance for those taking part to get some fresh air and post-Christmas exercise and enjoy the countryside.”
In addition, this year’s series of walks is not the first time Susan has organised such events for charity. In 2017, she took part in a sponsored walk in aid of the disaster fund for those affected by Hurricane Maria in the Caribbean.
Susan Utterly also mentioned aspirations of future walking business and hosting wild camping activities for women.
There are five places per walk and the cost is £10 per person. The money will be donated to Down Syndrome Bradford.
