Windrush: The Years After – Educational Resource and Workbook

KLTV and Windrush: The Years After are proud to present our very own Windrush classroom resources ready for use at school and home.

Windrush: The Years After explores the history and contribution of people who came from the Caribbean to Huddersfield in West Yorkshire after the Second World War.

Powerful stories of migration and determination are brought to Key Stage 2 pupils by exploring how local histories connect with the wider world.

Launched to coincide with Windrush Day 2020, these materials explore the history and legacy of Huddersfield’s own Windrush Generation.

Activities, photographs, worksheets, a dateline, a glossary, resource suggestions and links to online video materials feature in this free resource pack.

Created by the team that produced the documentary Windrush: The Years After (2019), these resources meet National Curriculum ( History/Geography/English) requirements and will be invaluable for teachers, parents and children in and beyond Kirklees.
