Kirklees Local TV is delighted to announce the premiere of their new short film, A Journey of Faith, this winter.
The film will premiere live on 13 December, 6 pm at the Brian Jackson House, New North Road Parade, Huddersfield, HD1 5JP. The film will then premiere online 24 hours later on YouTube and Kirkleeslocaltv.com
A Journey of Faith is the latest short film from Kirklees Local Television, following the successful premiere of Windrush: The Years After – A Community Legacy on Film.
Many social, economic, and environmental aspects have been discussed and explored about the Windrush generation who lived in Britain between 1948 to 1973. However very little is often spoken about their faith, spirituality and relationship with God.
A Journey of Faith explores the lives and experiences of five individuals from the African Descent Community in Huddersfield, exploring their faith, spirituality, culture and heritage.
They speak about their faith, and how it guided them from a young age, through the trials and tribulations of growing up, to crossing the ocean and arriving in the UK, to where it has brought them today, in the grace of God.
The evening is organised by Christians United Through Expression & Sound in association with Oasis Care Services and Kirklees Local Television.
Alongside the film, the evening will feature in-depth conversations with local church and community groups, special giveaways featuring some unique items, and refreshments provided throughout.
Special guests include the wonderful Huddersfield Community Gospel Choir, and renowned Poet Pauline Hanson Gilman, both of whom will be performing for guests throughout the evening.
KLTV is delighted to share this new short film with audiences soon and would like to thank all the groups and communities involved in its development and creation. A special thanks to members of the Windrush Generation, who kindly gave their time to appear in the film.
The event is free to attend, for more information contact Sue on 07804158141
