On Thursday 17th November between 6 pm and 8 pm, the Brighouse Town Deal Board are giving residents, businesses and retailers another chance to see the plans for the future of the town centre at the Brighouse Central Methodist Church.
The plans for the future of the town centre are part of the £19.1 million Brighouse Deal that has been in the works for the past three years, since July 2019.
The group hosting the event at the Methodist Church will comprise representatives from the town’s private and voluntary sector, community and residents’ organisations.
This Open Evening will be the second chance to see the proposals after the Open Day earlier this year at Brighouse Open Market, attracting hundreds of people interested in the plans for the future of the town centre.
Attendees at the Open Evening on 17 November will be able to see the plans for Brighouse Welcome, Canalside & Thornton Square, Retail & Leisure, Market Revitalisation and Industry 4.0 & Skills.
These projects that are a part of the Brighouse Deal have now been approved by the Board, Calderdale Council and Department of Levelling Up, Housing and Communities.
Visitors will discover what happens next and talk to those who have been scrutinising the projects throughout the Deal’s three-year development.
The intended final goal of the Brighouse Deal is to have delivered all the projects by 2024 to March 2026, however, it must be noted that these are estimated completion dates and are subject to change.
David Whitehead, Co-Chair of the Brighouse Town Deal Board, said: “This is an exciting moment for the future of Brighouse and we want to make sure as many people as possible know about the approved plans that make up the £19.1 million Deal.”
“From a brand new market to focusing on people rather than cars, to encouraging people to spend more and spend longer in the town centre, there will be some major changes in the years ahead and we want to share the details, discover what people think and explain what happens next.”
David Whitehead concluded: “Please join us at the Methodist Church on Thursday 17 November between 6 and 8 pm for another chance to see how we’re working together to write the next chapter in the story of our town.”
