The conversation looks at how the programme is working to challenge stigma and misunderstanding around neurodiversity within Black communities, while developing culturally relevant, strengths-based support for neurodivergent children, young people and families.
Ashlene shares her experience of completing the Neuro Coach training with distinction, including how the programme changed her perspective and helped her move away from a deficit-based approach towards recognising and building on the strengths of neurodivergent individuals.
Jo also discusses the ambition to train more Neuro Coaches, reach communities across Kirklees and ultimately expand the programme nationally.

Following the success of the first workshop, KLTV returned to the Chestnut Centre in Sheepridge to see how the Move More Fartown project is building real momentum within the community.
Following ...on from Workshop 1, where residents, community groups, and local organisations came together to share their experiences, this second session focused on turning those conversations into action.
The initial workshop created space for honest discussion around the barriers to staying active in the Fartown and Leeds Road areas—highlighting issues such as access to safe spaces, local infrastructure, and the social challenges that can prevent people from moving more.
With those insights at the forefront, Workshop 2 shifted towards developing a practical action plan. Attendees worked collaboratively to explore solutions, prioritise key areas for improvement, and begin shaping ideas into achievable steps that can make a lasting difference.
A major theme throughout the Move More Fartown project is ensuring that change is led by the community itself. By putting decision-making power into the hands of those who live and work in the area, the project aims to create meaningful, sustainable change that truly reflects local needs.

According to the National Charity Refuge, 1 in 4 women in England and Wales will experience domestic abuse in their ...lifetime. The global majority are particularly at risk, with 7.1% of people of mixed ethnicity having experienced domestic abuse within the past two years.
In this powerful second episode, Dr Milton Brown speaks with Nwugo Ugada, Founder of Let Us Speak Out, a domestic abuse specialist with over 33 years of lived experience as a Nigerian woman, and a Master’s degree in Understanding Domestic and Sexual Violence.
Nwugo reminds us that knowledge is power, and that healing can begin the moment we choose to speak up. This conversation is insightful, informative, and deeply sobering.

KLTV visited the Chestnut Centre in Sheepridge to see the first Move More Fartown community workshop in action.
Aimed at improving health and movement in the Fartown and Leeds Road areas, ...the session brought together residents, community groups, and local organisations to identify the real-world obstacles preventing people from staying active. From infrastructure concerns to social barriers, the workshop served as a platform for local voices to drive meaningful change.
A key takeaway from the event is the commitment to resident-led decision-making. Move More Kirklees is currently seeking local individuals to sit on a funding panel.
This panel will have the direct power to decide which proposed improvements and activities will receive financial support, ensuring the community remains in control of its own progress.
