Huddersfield-based youth organisation, Conscious Youth, has been awarded a significant grant of £77,000 by the National Lottery’s Million Hour Fund.

This funding will be used to expand the youth provision offered at their ‘The Corner Hub’ location in Huddersfield Town Centre.

The National Lottery’s Million Hour Fund specifically supports organisations working with young people at risk of anti-social behaviour.

Conscious Youth’s existing programme of activities aims to empower these young people and improve their mental and emotional resilience.

With the new grant, Conscious Youth will be able to offer free diversionary activities most evenings of the week.

These activities include music production and recording sessions, targeted trauma therapy, an open-access youth club specifically for college students, and educational opportunities.

“We are incredibly grateful to the National Lottery’s Million Hour Fund for their generous support,” said Sophie Simpson, Director of Operations at Conscious Youth, in a statement on their website.

“This funding will enable us to reach even more young people and provide them with the tools and resources they need to make positive choices and thrive.”
