Creativity has proved to be a lifeline for many through lockdown. The Kirklees Pandemic Creativity Project is an online collection. It features all forms of creativity by residents and local organisations throughout West Yorkshire. A special collection of creativity throughout lockdown and the continuing pandemic.
Nicola Twynham, a local textile and embroidery creative based in Byram Arcade, was the mind behind the collection. Nicola coordinated and created the collection during lockdown. The platform was a way to share her passion for creativity in communities. In addition, it served as a way to instil community pride and identity.
The online collection is hosted on Padlet, which serves as a type of online notice board. Furthermore, anyone interested can view the contributions so far, as well as like and support others’ creativity.
Anyone who has any questions about the Kirklees Pandemic creativity Project or who would like to contribute to the project can contact Nicola at nicola@nicolatwynham.co.uk.
