New weekly classes aim to inspire, support wellbeing and build community

Holmfirth Tech is opening its doors to children and young people with a fresh programme of arts, dance and social activities, delivered in partnership with local providers.

The initiative is part of the centre’s commitment to being “a place where everyone can learn, grow, and connect.”

A full schedule of Saturday fun

On Saturday mornings, the venue will host a variety of sessions open to different age groups:

• Boogie Beans – Baby & Toddler Dance Class (12 months–4 years), 9:45 am to 10:25 am, £5.50
• Lyrical Jazz Dance, ages 7–11, 10:30 am to 11:15 am, £5.50
• Junior Street Dance, ages 7–11, 11:15 am to 12 noon, £5.50
• Musical Theatre, ages 4–10, 12:15 pm to 1:15 pm, £6.00

Visual arts classes throughout the week

Holmfirth Tech is also hosting a series of art classes by The Children’s Art School, tailored to multiple age groups:

• Junior Art Club (ages 4–7): Tuesdays, 4:00 pm–5:00 pm, and Saturdays, 11:15 am–12:15 pm
• Intermediate Art School (ages 7–11): Saturdays, 9:30 am–11:00 am
• Senior Art Club (ages 11–18): Mondays, 4:00 pm- 5:30 pm, and as part of Saturday Art School, 1:00 pm -2:30 pm

These classes provide a creative outlet and social space for children and teens to explore art in a supportive environment.

Café100: a weekly youth hub

For older children and teenagers (11–17 years), Holmfirth Tech also hosts Café100, a youth club that provides “a safe, fun, and sociable space every week.”

The club seeks to promote wellbeing, connection and leisure opportunities beyond traditional educational settings.

Strengthening community through arts and well-being

Holmfirth Tech describes the programme as a reflection of its commitment to “arts, wellbeing, and community,” and hopes that more children and young people will engage with their offerings.
