As the planning for 2023’s ‘Kirklees Year of Music’ continues to progress, the team organising the event has announced the involvement of Third Sector Leaders. The new partnership will see Third Sector Leaders join the project to support the Kirklees Year of Music volunteer initiative.
Third Sector Leaders Kirklees (TSL Kirklees) is a registered charity and the official volunteer centre in Kirklees. TSL Kirklees provides support for volunteering for the local community and voluntary groups, charities and social enterprises; it has over 2,000 contacts in its network.
Kirklees Year of Music 2023 will celebrate Kirklees’ rich musical heritage. Over a year-long programme. It aims to support and develop the music sector and scene in Kirklees. This includes enabling a thriving and safe nighttime economy, world-class education, training, skills and connecting the power of music to physical and mental health wellness.
TSL Kirklees will support Kirklees Year of Music in its volunteering initiative. As an accredited Volunteer Centre for Kirklees, their volunteer service will provide advice to Kirklees Year of Music volunteering plans and procedures. The charity supports organisations in a similar way all over Kirklees. It connects organisations with interested volunteers as well as providing policy, procedure and coordination guidance.
