Hosted on the second Sunday of every third month, Globe Arts Studio provides a space for people to come along between 11 am – 2 pm and buy from local artists and makers.
Globe Arts Studio currently supports 11 micro-businesses within their studios and is very proud of the broad range of creatives who operate from them. With the costs of running a business increasing, the studio is now looking at different ways of supporting their studio holders by holding a community event, open to everyone.
On the second Sunday of every third month, their doors will be open to the public in which people can come and purchase creatives’ “seconds” and artist materials. Held in the Create Space on New Street, Slaithwaite.

A ‘creative second’ might look like an accidental fingerprint on a print, an upturned corner on a photograph, a re-fused glass keyring, or a ceramic bowl with the wrong coloured glaze on it. Any slight imperfection on a handmade which usually means it can’t be sold as easily, by the artist.
The event will help to save these pieces from being forgotten about in a cupboard or studio, getting them out into the world.
Globe Arts Studio was created in 2014, to deliver high quality, engage, and accessible art and craft classes and workshops. The Studio has a location at the heart of Slaithwaite, West Yorkshire.
