The Denby Dale Centre is a local independent Kirklees charity operating community transport, social activities, and dementia groups, however, due to financial hardships they have opened a GoFundMe fundraiser.
Recently the charity has recently fallen into a financial crisis due to:
- Bus 1 power door failure costing the charity an unexpected £2500.
- Bus 2 engine failure following mis-fuelling accident costing the charity £8000.
- The charity shop was caught in the 18th June Denby Dale flash-flood costing the charity £1000 of losses and lost income.
The charity works hard to provide 3,000 acts of connection which helps make HD8 have the lowest loneliness figures in Kirklees. The Denby Dale Centre also worked tirelessly through Covid, helped to support Ukrainians displaced by war, and set up welfare relief for families in HD8 in need of support.
This charity works hard on minimal income and needs help via donations on the fundraiser to get through these financial pressures in an already difficult economic time.
