By Joshua Robinson –
A series of short courses in The Walters Method (TWM) will be running over the summer and autumn. The three-session programme will give people a greater understanding of TWM while receiving healing, and learning core techniques to provide support for life.
Participants will explore techniques, learn about TWM’s ethos and philosophy, get to know the trainers, and work with a supportive group to undergo deep healing.
The Walters Method
The Walters Method (TWM) is a five-step process that gives people practical tools for healing trauma, letting go of the past, trusting the future, and being more present in the here and now.
It’s an innovative way to free the mind from unconscious patterns and ego drivers and instead see with increasing clarity how to be; how to deal with difficult emotions and how to find purpose and feel fulfilled.
As a toolkit for positive change, it can be used to help with many issues including trauma, PTSD, anxiety, panic attacks, depression, addiction and sabotaging behaviours, grief, remorse, and relationship issues.
The Format of the Courses
Each course will run over three consecutive weeks.
In each week, there will be a demonstration, a discussion around what the technique can achieve and when it might be useful, and also experience the deep healing shift it can bring about in yourself.
Week 1:
Introduction to TWM’s ethos and the power of a body-based practice.
Exploring the healing power of conscious listening.
Reflective exercise – morning pages and the empty chair.
Week 2:
Introducing the concept of ‘levels of mind.’
Reflective exercises: The Shoulds Exercise and Questioning Thoughts.
Week 3:
Introducing TWM’s exercise: The Emotional Release technique.
Reflections on the benefits of the exercise.
Discussion about participants’ continuing personal journey.
