“Bringing the spirit of Grenada to the UK”

On Saturday, 22 July 2023, Grenadians in the United Kingdom will come together to celebrate the 15th Annual Grenadian Heritage Day. Massive crowds of Grenadians and friends will descend on the Latymer Upper School Playing Field, Hartington Road, London W4 3UH where they will be able to sample tasty Grenadian cuisine, fruits, vegetables, arts, crafts, culture, entertainment, as Grenada’s Heritage is put in the spotlight.

The idea for Grenada Heritage Day was conceived in 2009 by the High Commissioner for Grenada at the time, H.E. Ruth Elizabeth Rouse, and aimed to educate second and succeeding-generation Grenadians about their Heritage and showcase Grenadian Culture, Expertise, and Cuisine.

The first event proved to be such a tremendous success that the High Commission and the various Grenadian Community Groups in the United Kingdom decided to make it an annual event.

Each year several Grenadian Community Groups, individuals, and supporters showcase their talent with various dishes, artistic creations, and a wide range of performers in multiple disciplines, including carnival costumes.

Grenadians come from different parts of the United Kingdom, including Huddersfield, Manchester, Reading, Wales, and several communities in and around London. It provides an opportunity for those of Grenadian heritage (and others from the African diaspora) to greet and network as they seek to become more acquainted with each other and simultaneously learn unique information about the island of Grenada.
