Armed Forces Day took place on Saturday, 28 June 2025, offering the nation a powerful opportunity to honour the courageous men and women who make up the UK’s Armed Forces community.

From serving personnel to veterans, cadets and service families, the day was dedicated to recognising their extraordinary contributions both at home and overseas.

The celebration marked the culmination of a week of national appreciation that began on Monday 23 June, including Reserves Day on Wednesday 25 June, which highlighted the vital role of the UK’s Reserve Forces.

Across the country, towns and cities proudly flew the flag, hosted parades and community events, and came together to show solidarity and support.

This annual event went beyond simple recognition. For those who served and continued to serve, Armed Forces Day provided a much-needed morale boost and a reminder that their sacrifices and commitment were not forgotten.

Whether deployed around the globe on peacekeeping missions, providing humanitarian aid, or working on UK soil to protect and support communities, the Armed Forces remained a cornerstone of national life.

Kirklees Local TV (KLTV) will be holding a premiere event for the upcoming release of their powerful documentary, Huddersfield’s Windrush Forgotten Veterans.

This new documentary honours the Caribbean men and women who answered the call to serve in the British Armed Forces.
