Mr Mohammed Patel from Cedar Grove, Batley pleaded guilty at Leeds Crown Court on Wednesday 21 September 2016.
Kirklees Council took the case to court after witnessing a series of offences at two of the companies premises – Field Lane, Batley and Bretton Street Enterprise Centre, Dewsbury.
The Field Lane, Batley premises was closed by Kirklees Council’s Environmental Health Officers in October 2015 due to an active rat infestation in the food production area.
The premises was also found to be in a filthy condition, with no hot water on site and a serious risk of cross contamination.
The Bretton Street premises was inspected in January 2016 and officers found that there were inadequate temperature controls of high risk foods and incorrect labelling of sandwich use by dates.
Mr Patel was also found guilty of the following offences at both locations:
Lack of training provided, no food safety management system, having an unsuitable delivery vehicle for transport of sandwiches to shops and providing false or misleading information.
The case is due for sentencing at Leeds Crown Court on 4 November 2016.
