Third Sector Leaders Kirklees launch special opportunity to build partnerships with local community groups

Third Sector Leaders Kirklees are inviting local businesses to a unique networking opportunity designed to strengthen ties between companies, charities, community groups and social enterprises.

The Connections Event will take place on Wednesday 8 October 2025 at Brian Jackson House in Huddersfield.

Attendees can drop in any time between 11am and 2pm to explore stalls from more than 20 local charities and grassroots organisations.

Linking Business with Community

The event aims to show how businesses can get involved in volunteering, share skills, and support local projects.

It will also highlight services that third sector organisations can offer to businesses and their staff – ranging from team wellbeing activities to support services for families and carers.

Organisers say the goal is to spark meaningful conversations and build lasting relationships between the private sector and community-based groups.

Partnership and Support

The Connections Event is a joint initiative organised by Third Sector Leaders Kirklees, Kirklees Council, and One Community.

Entry is free, and all attendees will receive a complimentary brochure featuring a full list of participating organisations, contact details, and opportunities to get involved.

Becky Bracey, Volunteer Services Manager at Third Sector Leaders Kirklees, explained the importance of the initiative: “As the accredited Volunteer Centre for Kirklees we often get approached by local businesses who are looking for connections to help them deliver their corporate social responsibility in the local community.

“This event is a fantastic opportunity to meet a wide range of local charities and grassroots community groups all in one place, and make those valuable personal contacts.”
