Got your Christmas cake baked and wishing you had the skills to finish it off with professional-looking decoration? Bagshaw Museum in Batley is holding a master class on Sunday, 11 December, that will help amateur bakers turn a plain fruit cake into a Christmas centrepiece.
The class is run by bespoke cake-makers Jennie’s Cakes. The master class will teach participants icing techniques such as ‘smocking’ and ‘garrett frills’ so they can create their own beautiful Christmas cake at home.
There are two sessions – 12noon to 1.30pm and 2pm to 3.30pm – each costing £8 per person. Each participant will be provided with a ready iced hand-baked mini fruit cake to work on. All other materials and equipment will also be provided.
Due to limited numbers per session, places must be booked in advance by Sunday, 27 November. To book or for further information contact Bagshaw Museum on 01924 324765.
