Throughout three months in 2025, KLTV followed the New Mill Male Voice Choir as they prepared for a special concert featuring The 3 Sopranos at the Holmfirth Civic Hall.

Based in the village of New Mill in the beautiful Holme Valley, near Huddersfield in West Yorkshire, the choir is a thriving group of more than 50 singers who come together each week to share their passion for music, friendship and community.

This short documentary captures the dynamic rehearsals and the intense dedication that goes into preparing for a major performance, all told from the perspective of the choir members themselves.

The film also offers a glimpse into the welcoming spirit of the choir, where singing is about enjoyment as much as performance. From the rehearsal room to the concert stage, it’s a story about music, camaraderie and community.

The New Mill Male Voice Choir is always welcoming new members.

Rehearsals take place every Tuesday evening at 7:30 pm at the New Mill Club in the Holme Valley.

Expect great music, plenty of laughter, and the chance to relax with a beer and supper in the lounge bar after rehearsal.
