Incommunities launches third wave of ‘Funding In-Communities’ to support local projects
Community groups across Kirklees are being invited to apply for their share of £43,000 in the latest round of the ‘Funding In-Communities’ initiative, led by housing provider Incommunities.
This is the third wave of the programme, which has already supported a wide range of local projects.
Eligible applications can include food banks, children’s playgroups, social clubs, art classes, and other activities that benefit residents living in Incommunities homes.
Applications open on 4 September and close at 5 pm on 22 September 2025. Groups can apply online at www.incommunities.co.uk/funding-in-communities.
Shortlisting and Celebratory Event
Applications will be reviewed, with successful projects placed on a shortlist. The shortlist will then go to a public vote, with winners announced at a celebratory evening on 29 October 2025 at Valley Parade Stadium, Bradford.
The £43,000 fund will be split across two events, giving groups another opportunity to apply in February 2026.
Previous Success Stories
One organisation that has already benefited from the scheme is Cottingley Community Centre in Bradford.
Centre Manager Helen Eteson said: “We applied for the money so that we could run something for the youth because there wasn’t that much happening for young people around here.
“So, we’re running a weekly drama workshop for young people, and the money is helping us be able to run that for a year.”
Supporting Local Communities
Susan Godbold, Head of Customer Voice at Incommunities, said the initiative was about recognising and strengthening the valuable work already happening in local communities: “We’re delighted to announce that applications are open for this round of Funding In-Communities.
“There are so many great community-based groups out there doing fantastic work to support our customers. We’re pleased to help them continue their inspirational efforts.
“In the last wave of Funding In-Communities, we donated £60,000 to some fantastic causes across the Bradford district. There are so many more amazing groups out there who are doing life-changing work that benefits our customers – we can’t wait to meet more of them.
