Catch up with the highlights from the 2025 Community Archives and Heritage Group (CAHG) Conference.

The Community Archives and Heritage Group (CAHG) is a national group which aims to support and promote community archives in the UK & Ireland (https://www.communityarchives.org.uk/)

This year’s theme was Community Voice: community heritage, preserving, sharing and celebrating diverse histories and traditions.

For the very first time, the CAHG Conference was held in the North of England, bringing together community groups, heritage practitioners and enthusiasts to explore how communities preserve and share their histories – from oral storytelling and song to crafts, photographs, and digital archives.

The event featured inspiring presentations from groups across the North and beyond, showcasing creative ways of engaging the public with both tangible and intangible cultural heritage.

Attendees also enjoyed skills workshops, a vibrant marketplace and hub with stalls and displays, poster sessions, and plenty of networking opportunities.
