A new wave of creative industry training and community networking events is set to energise West Yorkshire, thanks to a free support programme from the Black Business Consortium West Yorkshire (BBC-WY).

Are you an entrepreneur, freelancer or creative professional in sectors such as fashion, advertising, tech, film, music or digital media?

BBC-WY is inviting individuals across Leeds, Bradford and Kirklees to take part in a series of tailored workshops and events aimed at building business skills, fostering collaboration, and unlocking growth opportunities.

Backed by organisations including Palm Cove (Bradford), Unity Housing (Leeds), Kirklees Local TV and the Black Business Support Agency (Huddersfield), the consortium is on a mission to regenerate inner-city neighbourhoods and empower Black entrepreneurs through education, inclusion and enterprise.

Upcoming Workshops Across West Yorkshire

Artificial Intelligence for Creatives – Leeds – 21 May, 18 June, 9 July 2025

This session will help entrepreneurs integrate AI into their workflows, automate repetitive tasks, and even begin developing their own AI tools and apps.

Branding & Marketing – Leeds – 14 May, 4 June, 2 July 2025

Participants will gain insights into developing a compelling brand identity, learn SEO and social media techniques, and master digital content marketing strategies.

Sales Workshop – Leeds – 11 & 25 June 2025

Tailored to creative industries, this training focuses on customer relationships and sales skills that convert, with a focus on value-based selling.

Business Mentoring – Online & In-Person – 14 May – 1 September 2025

Ongoing mentoring support offers one-on-one guidance, motivation and expert advice to help develop ideas and maintain business momentum.
