With the New Year soon arriving, Town Halls across the Kirklees area are hosting several events that are worth a visit.
Huddersfield Town Hall:
Date: Sunday 7th January, 7 pm.
An award-winning tribute to one of the leading contemporary recording artists. Katy Ellis, a self-obsessed ‘Swiftie’ with a live band and dancers promises to deliver a recreation of a Taylor Swift show.
Sarah Millican: Late Blommer
Date: Wednesday 17th – Thursday 18th January.
In Late Bloomer, Sarah’s brand-new stand-up show, she explores how one became the other. Plus, lots of stuff about dinners and lady gardens. Come along, laugh at her, with her, beside her.
Date: Friday 26th January.
A show in celebration of ‘The Velvet Voice’ experience all the hits from Luther Vandross’ amazing career, culminating over 40 million album sales and eight Grammy awards including many of the greatest dance anthems and love songs ever written, fronted by international Luther Vandross tribute Harry Cambridge and his 10-piece band.
Dewsbury Town Hall:
The Magic Of The Bee Gees
Date: Saturday 9th March.
This tribute show includes all the favourite songs, including Night Fever, Stayin’ Alive, More Than a Woman, and many more.
Bingo That’s Bonkers
Date: Friday 22nd March.
The event’s hosts and DJ’s for the evening will be Perry Marco and Owen Lewis, who will be playing smash hits from the 80’s, 90’s and today. Expect music to sing and dance to including the music of ABBA, to the Spice Girls, to Beyonce.
Cleckheaton Town Hall:
The Chicago Blues Brothers – Cruisin’ for a Bluesin’
Date: Saturday 27th January.
The Chicago Blues Brothers have put the band back together and are ‘Cruisin’ for a Bluesin’ going to the music capitals of the USA for one night of live music. This award-winning show is bringing the best in Rhythm and Blues, Soul, Country and Motown with a few surprises and lots of lunacy thrown in for good measure.
Batley Town Hall:
Legend – The Music of Bob Marley
Date: Friday 9th February.
The show is celebrating the music of Bob Marley in a stage show extravaganza. Combining his superb, distinctive vocals with flawless musicianship, and a talented cast.
