PENNINE AND BIRCHENCLIFFE WYEVALE GARDEN CENTRES KICK OFF CHRISTMAS FESTIVITIES WITH THE ARRIVAL OF
With the Christmas season firmly in sight, Pennine and Birchencliffe Wyevale Garden Centres are gearing up to host the arrival of a very special someone this Saturday 12th November.
Both centres have again teamed up with the local Kirkwood Hospice for their annual Reindeer Parade, with the arrival of Father Christmas signalling the opening of the centres’ magical grottos, run by the hospice. The lucky winner of a Christmas card competition, also arranged by Kirkwood Hospice, will take a turn in Father Christmas’ sleigh, which will be escorted by volunteers from the White Knights blood transportation charity.
The Reindeer Parade is a key annual event in the festive community calendar, and Pennine & Birchencliffe garden centres look forward to welcoming families along to attend. If you can’t make it to watch the parade then parents are invited to bring their children down to both centres any day where they will be able to meet Father Christmas in his grotto until he heads back to the North Pole on the 24th December.
Nicola Barber at Kirkwood Hospice says, ‘We are so pleased to be working alongside Pennine and Birchencliffe Wyevale Garden Centres once again at the much anticipated Reindeer Parade and grottos. It’s such a popular event and it’s lovely to see all of the families who come out to welcome Father Christmas to the area! We are so grateful for the support we have received from Wyevale Garden Centres as this helps us raise much needed funds which ensures we can continue providing care for patients and their families in Kirklees.’
Andrew Tyers at Birchencliffe garden centre says, ‘The annual Reindeer Parade is a lovely festive event that really brings Christmas to life in the local community. We love being involved and really appreciate all the help and support we receive from both Kirkwood Hospice and the White Knights charity. We look forward to seeing families come down to watch the parade and come and meet the reindeer at the centre after!’
