Third Sector Leaders Kirklees (TSL Kirklees) is offering several volunteering opportunities across multiple groups and organisations in Kirklees to residents.

One of the roles TSL Kirklees currently advertising on their website is Meeting Organiser for Natural Kirklees. The role involves helping quarterly meetings that Natural Kirklees holds for their members where around 30 groups are represented either in Beaumont Park or Heckmondwike. Natural Kirklees are looking for someone to help us with the following tasks:

• Confirm the venue
• Publicise the meeting and agenda
• Confirm presenters and identify any requirements they have and facilitate
• Help set up the meeting room
• When the minutes have been agreed to arrange to post them on the website

Another volunteering role that TSL Kirklees is advertising is an Online Retail Volunteer at The Kirkwood. The role will require the successful applicant to research donated items to assess their value and write accurate product descriptions for The Kirkwood’s website. Other duties and responsibilities of the role include:

• Taking quality photographs to attract online customers
• Packing and dispatching online orders
• Specialising in specific product categories based on personal interests

The last volunteering position discussed in this article is the opportunity for a Volunteer Car Driver at TIMEtogether. Here is an opportunity to join a team of  Volunteer Car Drivers who help local people overcome their transport barriers. Many people in Kirklees are isolated and housebound due to poor access to suitable transport provision, leading to loneliness and poor mental and physical health. Volunteer Car Drivers help people get to essential appointments such as:

• Doctors appointments
• Hospital appointments and vaccinations

The drivers also help with visiting friends & family, shops, hair salons, sporting, and social groups. The driver requires their own car for this role.
