Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice is looking forward to welcoming both new and familiar faces to Russell House this April, following an overwhelming response to its urgent appeal launched in December 2024.
The charity has seen its social media following grow by over 2,000 as supporters rally to provide donations and messages of encouragement.
Open Days at Russell House
The hospice is opening its doors on two special days in April:
- Wednesday, 2nd April 2025, 10 am-4 pm – Exclusively for businesses, schools, and groups. Booking is required for a guided tour via fundraising@forgetmenotchild.co.uk.
- Saturday 5th April 2025, 10am-2pm – Open to the public, with no booking necessary.
A Unique Opportunity to Explore and Learn
Visitors attending the open days will have the chance to tour Russell House and its grounds, meet the dedicated team, and learn more about the vital care Forget Me Not provides to local children and families. The tours will offer insights into volunteering and career opportunities, upcoming events, and fundraising challenges. A Message from Forget Me Not’s Family Support Team
Stacey John, Family Support Team Leader at Forget Me Not, expressed gratitude for the growing support:
*“It’s been amazing and very heartening to see so many new followers and supporters come onboard since we launched our urgent appeal. People clearly feel very strongly about the importance and value of the vital services we provide and want to help in whatever way they can.
The future for our charity and for children’s hospices across the UK remains very challenging. But every penny our supporters raise, every minute they volunteer, and every item they donate or purchase from our shops makes a real difference to the local children and families we support.
Working in the family support team, I see every day how families facing unimaginable challenges are helped to feel a little less alone, thanks to our supporters. That’s why we’d love to welcome them to Russell House on our open days. It’s a great opportunity to see our fabulous facilities firsthand and hear from our staff about the huge difference their support makes to children with life-shortening conditions and their families.”*
