On Saturday 20th May, Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice held their annual Colour Run at Greenhead Park in Huddersfield and have raised over £30,000.
This year’s Colour Run saw over 900 participants raise money for the charity, which is currently still being counted.
The Colour Run consists of an 3km walk, jog or run while being showered in clouds of coloured powder.
However, new to this year’s run there was the additional option of a 5km course for people who wanted to push themselves just that little bit more.
Both of the courses (3km and 5km) cost exactly the same.

Vicky Lough, event manager at Forget Me Not, said: “What an amazing day we had on Saturday at Greenhead Park. It was incredible to see so many people having such a fun time, whilst also raising so much money to support local children and families.”
“It was heart-warming seeing so many people come and show their support – not only the participants, but the spectators, sponsors and passers-by who stopped to get involved too.”
Vicky said: “So far our colour runners have raised an absolutely fantastic £30,000 – every penny of which will go straight to supporting local children and families. And there’s more still to come in – we know that that number will continue to grow over the next few weeks as people chase up those finals few sponsors.”
“We want to say a huge thank you to everyone who took part – there wouldn’t be an event without you! But also a big thanks too to our headline sponsors Charlesworth Family Group, colour station sponsors Elland Round Table, Shepley Spring, Aflex Hose, FMG and Richter Associates.”
Vicky added: “Thanks are also due to Alex from KAL who got our runners warmed up and to photographer Mike Robinson who helped us capture the day! And of course to our wonderful team of staff and volunteers who worked hard to make sure the day was such the success it was!”
