hoot creative arts is bringing its music and wellbeing evenings to Dewsbury, celebrating music and its positive impact on mental health and wellbeing.
Speak Our Music events, part of the Kirklees Year of Music 2023 programme, is led by an experienced artist who demonstrates their musical specialty and then hosts a space where attendees can discuss how music has impacted their wellbeing.
The next event is set to take place on Tuesday 29th August 2023, from 6 pm to 8 pm at women’s charity, WomenCentre in Dewsbury. It will be led by the British Asian folk singer, Satnam Galsian and will focus on the theme of relaxation through breathing exercises and singing.
September’s event will return to WomenCentre in Dewsbury on Tuesday 26th September for a special half-day session. This event will focus on discussing the needs of women from Black, Asian, and minority ethnic backgrounds in the music industry in Yorkshire.

Both events are open to people who identify as women only. Free tickets are available online from hoot creative arts and the Kirklees Year of Music websites. Complimentary food and drink will be provided.
hoot creative arts is an arts and mental health charity based in the town centre of Huddersfield, England, offering a diverse range of creative activities that support mental health and emotional wellbeing for 20 years.
Their delivery is for a range of groups and settings and includes adult mental health services, people living with a diagnosis of dementia and their carer, end of life health services, children and young people’s wellbeing, supported residential settings, and the criminal justice system.
