There’s a Home Office fund available that is offering support to places of worship to tackle hate crimes through the installation of additional security equipment.
The total budget for the fund is £2.4 million which will be divided over the life of the fund. No minimum or maximum amount of grant funding has been specified. The funding is to be used for the cost of additional security equipment. Match funding of 20% is required.
Examples of security equipment that can be applied for include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Perimeter fencing.
- Access control gates.
- Door locks.
- Window locks.
- Intruder alarm.
- External lighting.
- Security doors.
Funding is also available to pay the appropriate labour cost to install the security equipment and all funded work must be completed by 31 March 2018.
The deadline for applications is 29 May 2017 (5pm).
