A Gambling Awareness workshop is to be held on Wednesday 6th of November from 1:45 pm- 3:30 pm and is free to attend.
The session is funded by GambleAware and is supported by Kirklees Council, Community Learning Works and The National Lottery Fund.
The workshop aims to shed light on problem gambling and offer services to those affected.
S2R (Support to Recovery) Create Space are an independent mental health charity, working across Kirklees, offering a range of well-being, creative and outdoor workshops.
Sian Smith, Deputy Manager of S2R Create Space said: “Support to Recovery is very grateful to be offered this one-off, free, public awareness session by ‘GambleAware’ in order to highlight the issue of gamble related harm on individuals but also to reach a wider audience including families or communities which may feel the impact but be unaware of how to gain support or advice”.
S2R will also host a Scams & Frauds interactive workshop on Thursday 7th November 10:30- 11:30, that will focus on the most common scams in circulation; covering social media, online, phone and postal scam.
Both events are to be held at S2R Create Space, 5-7 Brook Street, Huddersfield HD1 1EB.
