Get ready to experience the most colourful run in Huddersfield as Forget Me Not’s popular family fun Colour Run returns to Greenhead Park on Saturday, May 20th.
The annual event, which has been running since 2017, was put on hold for two years due to the pandemic.
This year, up to 1000 participants will take part in an easy 3km walk, jog, or run around the park while being showered in clouds of coloured powder.
According to Vicky Stackhouse, events fundraiser at Forget Me Not, the Colour Run in Greenhead Park is their most significant event of the year and something that the whole community can get involved in.
She said, “Whether you’re young or old, fit or couch potato, like running or prefer to stroll, it doesn’t matter – as long as you want to get as colourful as possible!”
In addition to the 3km run, this year’s event will also feature a 5km distance option for those who want to go a little bit further.
The site and stalls open at 11.30 am, and the warm-up will start at 1.15 pm.
The Colour Run will be followed by a Colour Party at 2.15 pm.
The Colour Run has helped raise thousands for the local charity Forget Me Not, which supports children with life-shortening conditions and their families across West Yorkshire.
Last year, the event raised a whopping £35,000, and this year, the organizers are hoping to raise even more.
Vicky urged people to take part in the event and raise as much money as possible, saying, “Every penny raised by getting sponsored will go towards supporting local families facing or living with the loss of their child.”
Tickets for the Colour Run are available on the day but are available at a reduced price in advance until May 17th at www.forgetmenotchild.co.uk/colourrun.
So, if you want to be part of the most colourful run in Huddersfield, book your place now and help raise money for a great cause!
