On Monday 17 October 2016, at 1pm; Gordon Stewart, Kirklees Borough Organist, is joined by Tom Osborne, co-principal trumpet in the Hallé Orchestra and a Huddersfield lunchtime favourite!
This year Tom opens with the Suite by Jeremiah Clarke which includes the most famous of all trumpet pieces, the Trumpet Voluntary.
It is a tradition that Tom ends his Huddersfield Town Hall recitals with a virtuoso piece for cornet; this year it’s the Variations on Rule Britannia.
Regular lunchtime concert goers often comment on how friendly and sociable these concerts are and, with pre-concert lunches available in the Old Court Room from 11.30am, why not enjoy a bite to eat and a chat with fellow concert-goers before sitting back and enjoying the uplifting music on offer. Friendly chat from Gordon provides the audience with an insight into the music, as well as a few entertaining personal anecdotes.
Lunchtime concert tickets cost £5 – season tickets are still available for just £43.
Tickets can be booked online at www.kirkleestownhalls.co.uk or by calling 01484 225755, they can also be bought from Huddersfield or Holmfirth Information Centres or Dewsbury Town Hall Box Office.
