The Family Law Firm, Makin Dixon, was announced as the winner of the Family Law Firm of the Year Award on 5 October 2023, in the Annual Ceremony of The Yorkshire Lawyer Awards hosted by Helen Skelton, Countryfile TV Presenter, in the New Dock, Leeds.

The prestigious award was collected during the Annual Dinner and Awards ceremony and recognises Makin Dixon’s success in legal aid, ground-breaking case wins, and innovative training methods and their subsequent impact on their clients’ health and wellbeing.
The company launched in 2004 has developed training programs for lawyers focussing on domestic abuse and children with a heavy lean towards legal aid.

The company boasts several ground-breaking cases in the last year, one of which has seen a change in legal aid rules for the whole of the UK widening the scope for victims of domestic abuse to gain access to legal aid.
