Mona Baptiste, born in Trinidad, arrived in Britain and quickly established herself as a brilliant singer, actress and entertainer, appearing on BBC radio before going on to achieve international success across Europe, particularly in Germany. Despite her achievements, her story remains unfamiliar to many in both the UK and the Caribbean.

In a special Kirklees Local TV African Descendants Forum conversation, Historians Bill Hern and David Gleave discuss the remarkable life and legacy of Mona Baptiste, one of the most successful yet under-recognised performers of the Windrush generation.
