Free all-day event on 8 November 2025 to bring together local groups, schools, and residents under the theme ‘Our Valley – Our Future’

The Big Community Celebration is set to return to central Holmfirth on Saturday 8 November 2025, promising a day filled with local stalls, live performances, and engaging activities for residents and visitors alike.

Organised by Holme Valley Parish Council, this free event will once again showcase the energy and creativity of the valley’s people, under the inspiring theme “Our Valley – Our Future.”

The focus for 2025 centres on young people and sustainability, encouraging the community to look ahead and work together for a greener, more inclusive future.

Local Groups Take Centre Stage

Throughout the day, community groups, charities, schools, and environmental projects from across the Holme Valley will take part, presenting their work and inviting residents to get involved.

From interactive workshops to performances and hands-on exhibits, the celebration aims to highlight the positive work taking place in the area.

The event will be held in and around Holmfirth Civic Hall and the town centre, with activities running from morning through to evening.

Building on Success

Following its successful debut in 2024, the Big Community Celebration has now been established as a biennial event, providing a regular platform for connection, collaboration, and community pride.

A spokesperson for Holme Valley Parish Council said the celebration is “a way to recognise all the brilliant initiatives that make our valley such a special place to live, while looking ahead to how we can continue to grow sustainably and support the next generation.”
