Huddersfield Soundfest 2026 brought music, culture and community together for a vibrant celebration of Soundsystem heritage.

Held on Saturday 15 August 2026 at Northfield Hall, Ashbrow, Huddersfield Soundfest welcomed music lovers, families, performers and Soundsystem enthusiasts for an afternoon of live music, entertainment and activities celebrating the rich cultural heritage behind Soundsystem culture.

The event featured Soundsystems from Roots Tradition Roundbeat, JNR Broadway, Ras Amharic, Lexus Audio, Earth Rocker International, Million International, Young Gunz Sound, Ras Sis Highness, DJ Don Eye, and Farda Fox, the MC.

Visitors were also able to experience film screenings, a 3D Soundsystem heritage map display, pop-up exhibitions, Caribbean food and activities for the whole family.

Celebrating a rich musical heritage

Soundfest 2026 provided an opportunity to celebrate the influence and importance of sound system culture to the local community.

From powerful speaker boxes and live performances, the event showcased the energy and sense of community that has made Soundsystem culture such an important part of Huddersfield’s cultural heritage.

The event also provided a platform for local performers and artists, helping to connect Huddersfield’s musical past with its present and future.

A new documentary capturing Soundfest

Launching in October 2026 as part of Black History Month, a trailer for KLTV’s documentary has now been released, giving audiences an early glimpse of the music, atmosphere and stories captured at Soundfest 2026.

The documentary will feature powerful performances, energetic crowd scenes, Soundsystem footage and interviews with some of the key figures involved in the event.
