As part of World Menopause Day, Huddersfield Town is delighted to share a new short documentary looking into their journey to becoming Menopause Friendly Employers.
Featuring testimony from CEO Jake Edwards, Manager Darren Moore, Operations Director Ann Hough, and HR Manager and Equality Lead Zoe Shackleton alongside various other members of Club staff, the documentary highlights Huddersfield Town’s commitment to being as open and inclusive an environment as possible.
The Club’s journey with Menopause Friendly Employer status began in July 2021, demonstrating over the course of the next year their support for the cause, eventually becoming the first club in the UK to achieve full Menopause Friendly status in June 2022.
Twice nominated in the Menopause Friendly Employer Awards in 2022 and earlier this year in 2023, Huddersfield Town was named the Most Supportive Partner at the most recent awards ceremony in September 2023, with the win coming a few days before the PLEDIS Advanced Award was presented to them.

World Menopause Day is held each year on 18 October to raise awareness, break the stigma and highlight the support available for improving health and wellbeing for those experiencing menopause.
Menopause is not just a gender or age issue, it is an organisational issue which can impact colleagues both directly or indirectly. Awareness around this topic is key to reducing the stigma attached to menopause and encouraging people to talk more openly about it.
In recognition of the Club’s work in becoming Menopause Friendly, Carolyn Harris MP sent a video message to the Club.
In the video, Carolyn Harris MP said: “When we have organisations like football clubs recognising the importance of treating women in the workplace well, and making sure that their needs are provided for, it makes society a better place.”
