By Nathan Findlay –
Huddersfield Town will take on Wayne Rooney’s side, Derby County F.C tonight for their 30th game in the Championship; 19:45 KO.
Huddersfield previously played Stoke City, where the game finished in a 1-1 draw after a late goal came in from the Potters. This was a frustrating goal but one that I think deserved for the away side. As the game got to the final quarter, Stoke outplayed Huddersfield and kept on creating strong chances, looking to find the back of the net and, unfortunately for Town, they did.
This now leaves Huddersfield just short of the promotion area. Town is currently on 45 points, tied with Middlesbrough and West Brom, who are also both on 45 points, so a result tonight is certainly something that Huddersfield will need to fight for.
Derby County F.C.
The Rams have had a strange season so far with a lot of problems previously and currently.
Derby has had a total of 21 points deducted from their total, but this has not stopped the side from performing.
With Wayne Rooney in charge and a positive mindset across the team, Derby has managed to get themselves back into some type of fighting chance.
Derby currently has 15 points and is sat in 23rd place in the table, only 6 points away from the relegation zone, two wins are all they need, and they will be fighting now more than ever.
In Derby’s past 10 games, they have managed to get a total of 14 points. This is good for the side, considering the position that they are currently in.
One player to watch for Derby is Tom Lawrence, who has played well for Derby so far and has managed to get a total of 8 goals so far this season. He is great on the ball and a true goal poacher, certainly someone that Huddersfield will have to look out for.
Prediction
This will be a great game tonight and one that will test Huddersfield as there is no other team that needs points right now more than Debry. Rooney has done magic for the club so far and I do not think that will stop now. After turning down a contract to manage the struggling Premier League side, Everton, it is clear that Rooney’s heart is in the club, and he is going to do everything in his power to try and keep the club up for another season.
Both teams will need to fight for the points tonight and I think it will be a challenging game. Therefore, my prediction is…
