Huddersfield Unlimited has revealed a host of updates from its busy autumn schedule, including the appointment of a new Director, successful events, and exciting plans for 2026.

Programme Manager Maya Howcroft provided an overview of the branch’s recent activities and upcoming initiatives.

Aaron Holt Joins as Director

Huddersfield Unlimited is delighted to welcome Aaron Holt as a Director.

Holt is the founder of Holtex, a Huddersfield-based precision engineering and manufacturing company known for its technical expertise, flexibility, and people-focused approach.

He is also co-founder and CEO of Holdson, a technology start-up that has secured private equity investment to develop the electroform™ range of electrochemical polishing equipment, advancing cleaner and more efficient manufacturing processes.

Holt serves on the West Yorkshire Business Board, advising the Mayor of West Yorkshire on industrial strategy, innovation, and economic development.

Maya highlighted his strong interest in skills and advanced manufacturing, as well as his commitment to attracting investment into the region.

Annual Conference Draws Local Leaders

On 22nd October, Huddersfield Unlimited hosted its fourth annual conference, ‘Huddersfield Returns – Investing in Huddersfield Today’, at the Accu Stadium.

The event brought together representatives from statutory authorities and local business leaders to discuss investment and growth opportunities in the town.

Maya commented on the conference’s success, noting the diversity of speakers and strong attendance.

Highlights included insights from Felix Kumi-Ampofo of the West Yorkshire Combined Authority.

Business Forum Focuses on Professional Services

The latest Business Forum took place on 7th October at The Light, concentrating on professional services and supporting young professionals.

Guests had the opportunity to network in a vibrant setting and forge new connections. Sponsors Ridley & Hall and Simpson Wood were acknowledged for their contributions.

Maya encouraged businesses to save the date for the next Business Forum, scheduled for 12th February at Brookes Mill, which will explore themes around culture and leisure.

Supporting Media Students and Promoting Huddersfield

Each year, Huddersfield Unlimited works with final-year media students to create social media content promoting investment in the town.

This year, they introduced students Tatenda Munyebvu, Grace Shaw, and Freya Briscoe, who have been producing innovative content to support the organisation’s outreach while gaining practical experience for their coursework.

Maya noted that attendees at recent events may have already met the students and seen their work in action.
