Huddersfield Unlimited recently held a successful conference titled ‘Huddersfield: The Next Chapter,’ which saw a remarkable turnout of approximately 150 attendees, the largest to date.

The event gathered a diverse audience, all eager to share their ambitions for the future of Huddersfield.

Looking to the Future

Kevin M. Nagle, Owner and Chairman of Huddersfield Town, outlined his vision for the future of the club and its integration with the local business community.

Carole Pattison, the leader of Kirklees Council, detailed the Huddersfield Blueprint, emphasising the council’s commitment to realising its strategic vision for the town.

Jonathan Hardy introduced the upcoming developments at the Kingsgate Centre, scheduled to launch next Easter, which are expected to rejuvenate Huddersfield’s night-time economy.

Sue Cooke, Chief Executive of the 3M Buckley Innovation Centre, discussed the University of Huddersfield’s continued investment in health and wellbeing, highlighting the £100 million already invested and plans for six additional buildings.

Local Business Leaders

In addition, Local business leaders, including Sarah Bowes, James Collett, Adnan Rasool, and Sam Wymer, shared inspiring stories of how local companies are making a global impact.

David Shepherd, Executive Director of Place at Kirklees Council, and newly elected local MPs Harpreet Uppal and Paul Davies, spoke about policies aimed at benefiting the local area.

Emma Clarkson closed the event with remarks on the West Yorkshire Combined Authority’s Good Growth programme, even delivering a song.

Sam Teale showcased his award-winning Christmas video and ended on a high note with an encouraging message: “If I can do it, you can too!”
