Kirklees Local TV and Windrush: The Years After, are proud to announce the official release of the Windrush Educational Resource and Workbook.
Our newly available resource explores the history and contribution of people who came from the Caribbean to Huddersfield in West Yorkshire after the Second World War.
Powerful stories of migration and determination are brought to Key Stage 2 pupils through exploring how local histories connect with the wider world.
Launched to coincide with Windrush Day 2020, these materials explore the history and legacy of Huddersfield’s own Windrush Generation.
Activities, photographs, worksheets, a dateline, glossary, resource suggestions and links to online video materials feature in this free downloadable pack.
Created by the team that produced the documentary Windrush: The Years After (2019), these resources meet National Curriculum ( History/Geography/English) requirements and will be invaluable for teachers, parents and children in and beyond Kirklees.
You can view and download the resource for FREE here on our website, simply follow the link below
We believe history such as this deserves to be freely available to all those who wish to learn more and expand their knowledge and understanding of key historical events.
We hope you enjoy, Happy Windrush Day!
