New Mill Male Voice Choir are set to host Internationally renowned musician, Sir Willard White, at the Huddersfield Town Hall on Saturday 8 October.
Sir Willard, one of his generation’s best-loved Bass/Baritone singers, has appeared on the stage of the most prestigious Opera Houses in the world.
His legendary stage presence has captivated audiences for over 40 years and the Choir are delighted to welcome him back to Huddersfield Town Hall.
The concert will be the third time Sir Willard has appeared with the Choir, the last being in 2014.
Earlier this year Sir Willard appeared in Opera North’s production of Rigoletto at Leeds Grand Theatre, a performance that prompted the Guardian to write “Pity anyone who appears on the same platform as baritone Willard White.
“He has so much presence he can eclipse an entire symphony orchestra and chorus with a mere twitch of an eyebrow.”
The Choir say they are more than willing to take on that challenge!
The concert will support Rudi’s Retreat, based in Slaithwaite.
The charity provides holiday accommodation on the East Coast of Yorkshire for families experiencing traumatic and distressing life events.
Tickets are available from Huddersfield Town Hall and via the Choir’s website, www.newmillmvc.org.uk.
KLTV had the privilege of filming Sir Willard’s last performance with the choir in 2014, you can view part of his performance in the video below.
