New schools will focus on leadership, learning, work, policy and society to advance equity, inclusion and impact

The Institute for Equity, University Centre has entered an exciting new chapter with the launch of three new academic schools designed to tackle some of today’s most pressing challenges across leadership, education, work, policy and society.

The new schools – the School of Leadership Transformation, School of Applied Learning and Work, and School of Policy and Society – have been created to support individuals, organisations and communities in developing the knowledge, skills and approaches needed to create meaningful and lasting change.

Each school has its own specialist focus, while sharing a common ambition: to advance equity, inclusion and social impact through high-quality learning, research, collaboration and professional development.

Supporting a new era of equitable leadership and practice

The launch marks a significant development for the Institute for Equity, strengthening its commitment to providing evidence-informed learning opportunities for leaders, educators, practitioners, policymakers and professionals seeking to influence positive change.

To introduce the vision behind the new schools, Vice Principal Janet Cash has shared why this next phase of development is needed and how the schools will support those working to build fairer and more inclusive organisations and communities.

The new academic schools will provide dedicated expertise across three key areas:

School of Leadership Transformation

The School of Leadership Transformation will support leaders and organisations to develop the confidence, knowledge and strategies required to deliver inclusive and sustainable transformation.

The school aims to equip current and future leaders with the tools needed to respond to complex challenges while embedding equity and inclusion into decision-making and organisational practice.

School of Applied Learning and Work

The School of Applied Learning and Work will explore the relationship between education, employment and opportunity.

Through research, learning and professional development, the school will focus on supporting the creation of fairer and more inclusive learning and working environments.

School of Policy and Society

The School of Policy and Society will examine the wider systems, policies and societal issues that shape people’s experiences of equity, inclusion and opportunity.

The school will explore how policy and social structures can influence outcomes, helping professionals and organisations better understand and respond to inequalities.

Shaping the future of equity and inclusion

The Institute for Equity said the launch of the three schools represents a commitment to working collaboratively with people and organisations who are passionate about creating positive change.
