Huddersfield MP Harpreet Uppal is on the lookout for a Constituency Community Officer to enhance engagement with local organisations, businesses, and community groups.
The full-time role, based in the constituency office in Huddersfield, offers a salary range of £22,605 – £36,744 depending on experience.
This permanent position is designed for individuals with strong organisational and communication skills who are keen to develop and implement strategies for community engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include building relationships with stakeholders, arranging meetings and constituency events, supporting communications through newsletters, and managing the MP’s constituency diary.
The role also involves administrative duties and analysing data to identify local priorities and trends.
Candidates should demonstrate excellent time management, strong political judgement, and an ability to spot emerging trends.
A good knowledge of office IT systems and social media platforms is required, along with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
Applicants must also share the values of the Labour Party and maintain a professional approach to written and verbal communication.
Successful candidates will be required to undergo security clearance, conducted by the Security Vetting and Pass Office.
The role is paid in line with guidelines set by the Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority (IPSA).
