Huddersfield Town Hall will host a fundraising concert for Ukraine this May. The fundraiser has been organised by Mandy and Ihor Cioch, members of the Huddersfield Ukrainian Club.
The Celebration of Ukrainian Culture concert will take place at Huddersfield Town Hall on Sunday, May 15th from 4 pm to 7 pm.
It will raise money for the people of Ukraine and hopes to bring recently arrived refugees and the people of Huddersfield together through celebration.
All of the money raised by the event will be donated to the Association of Ukrainians in Great Britain (AUGB). AUGB is coordinating an emergency appeal in response to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.
Musicians, Choirs & Dancers
The night will see a variety of Ukrainian and English musicians, choirs and dancers come together to perform.
Performances include dancing from Ukrainian Cossack dancers – Hoverla, the Sviotch choir who have appeared on Ukrainian TV and will sing some Ukrainian songs and Zolota Kalyna, a Huddersfield based Ukrainian Folk Dance troupe.
.The day after the concert, Mandy will join a convoy of vans driving from Halifax to the Polish/Ukraine border to deliver humanitarian aid. Mandy’s friends and family have already donated over £1,000 to cover the cost of diesel.
Tickets start from £8.80, and all proceeds will directly help the people of Ukraine. Book your tickets here.
